Opportunity and position description: Crandon, in the heart of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, is home to some of Wisconsin's finest recreational trails. Follow the Nicolet -Wolf River Scenic Byway to discover historic and natural treasures. The Crandon International Off-Road Raceway hosts events drawing nearly 90,000 people. The Forest County Potawatomi (FCP) have lived in Forest County, Wisconsin, since the late 1800s. Around 1880, groups settled in areas near Blackwell and Wabeno and have lived in that area since, as well as in the Carter and Crandon (or Stone Lake) areas. Today, life on the reservation is very different than it was for the elders. They have done much for the younger generation, and it is because of the elders that the younger generations are who they are today. By pursuing a diverse set of business models, the Forest County Potawatomi of today are the largest employer in Forest County. With revenues from various tribal enterprises, the Potawatomi have invested in the health, wellness, education, environment, and future of its people. The FCP have also worked hard to preserve its culture and honor its past. The Cultural Center, Library and Museum provide an important link to the past and serves to facilitate important ceremonies. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Provides and manages direct patient care, including examinations, evaluations, assessments, referrals, diagnoses and treatments 2. Prescribes pharmaceuticals and other medications and / or treatment regimens as appropriate 3. Records organized, legible entries in electronic patient health records system, according to QAI Standards and standards of care 4. Provides clinical supervision and teamwork services 5. Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of applicable dental staff as needed 6. Performs patient triage and initiates patients care as appropriate for walk-ins 7. Provides necessary information for clinical and insurance credentialing purposes 8. Serves as Dental consultant for outside referrals 9. Presents in-services programs in areas of dental care to staff to increase awareness of specific problems, diagnosis, and treatment 10. Provides support as dental clinical director in his/her absence Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities): • Doctorate degree in Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine required • Two (2) years of directly related dental office experience preferred • Current WI Licensure without restrictions, DEA registration, and CPR certification required. • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, the ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage, and knowledge of institutional regulations and guidelines for the provision of dental outpatient services • Ability to observe, assesses, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress • Ability to supervise and train employees, foster a cooperative work environment, and maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to treat patients with dignity and respect • Must possess proof of applicable health department testing and vaccinations or testing/vaccination will be provided by FCP Employee Health • Proficiency with the latest technology and software, including Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
